Blossoming Romance

Love is in the air, can you feel it? As the flowers start to blossom, new relationships bloom as well; and even old relationships are revitalized by the warmer weather. So throw on a cute sundress, grab a date, and try one of these spring date ideas:

Picnic in the park

Pack some good sandwiches (my new favorite, thanks to Meigs, is the "Dino's Special" from Dino's in the North End), a bottle of wine, a blanket, and head to Boston Common for a relaxing lunch outdoors. After lunch you can traipse around the park hand-in-hand and even ride the historic swan boats.

Visit a vineyard

Nashoba Valley Winery is a tiny vineyard in Bolton, MA (an easy 40 minute drive from Boston). You can take a tour of the vineyard for $7.00 which ends with a tasting, or you can skip the tour and do only the tasting for $4.00 (five wines to taste, complimentary beer, and a glass all included in the price). Afterwards have a romantic dinner in their quaint restaurant; or if you aren't very hungry, purchase cheese and crackers from their shop and sit on the wraparound patio with a bottle of wine, taking in the gorgeous views.

Roof deck dinner

Boston's North End is extremely romantic. A great warm-weather spot is Ristorante Fiore where you can enjoy a good Italian meal and watch the sunset from their roof deck. After dinner, stroll over to Cafe Vittoria for their famous cappuccinos and split a pastry.

Stay in for the night

Head to your local famers market or grocery store together and grab ingredients to make a light summer dinner. Cooking together is fun and a great date activity (Doug and I love making pizza together using whole wheat dough and various toppings). After dinner, take a moonlit walk around your neighborhood.

Enjoy!
