It's always interesting to see where people spend the majority of their day, and so, I've decided to show you where I am 40 hours of the week. Stuck in a tiny room within an old hospital building, I've tried my best to make it as cozy and inviting as possible. While I can't give the entire place a makeover, I've added little touches--pictures, sayings, lamps, candies--to improve my not-so-chic office setting.
Above is a snapshot of my desk. My whiteboard has all of the vital information I need on a day-to-day basis scribbled in pretty marker. My Lilly-inspired mousepad is cheery and bright, and it matches the pink ribbon on my mason jar pen holder. The photo of my healthy, happy family reminds me how lucky I am; and the motivational quote next to it comes in handy on those days where I'm dragging.
On top of the small filing cabinet at the side of my desk is where I keep goodies: chocolates, mints, gum balls, and other little sweets for David (my office buddy) and I. From the looks of the empty jar, it must've been a rough week when that photo was snapped. In our office, stress = a candy free-for-all. The lamp is nice for some warm lighting, and it makes the room more homey. And the picture of my nugget? Cute, right?
On the wall near the closet, I've hung photos of some of my travels--Machu Picchu, a Yucatan sunrise, Santorini, the Arno River in Florence, the California coastline. These bring back wonderful memories, and they motivate me to work hard in order to save up and travel somewhere new.
Unfortunately for David, he's surrounded by pink. Even our door sign is pink. He's a good sport to put up with my crazy ways. On the door also hangs one of the festive letters I send to our patients for various holidays. For these women, every holiday is a milestone. Another birthday, halloween, or 4th of July is reason to celebrate. Because for the women I work with, they don't know if they'll get to see another Thanksgiving or Christmas. Therefore, for them, every holiday is extra special.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the mini tour! If you're ever in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by :)
I love it :)!!!!
