Friday night I ventured to Elephant Walk, a cambodian/french restaurant with amazing food. After enjoying spring rolls, pumpkin ravioli, loc lac, and spiced tea, the rest of the evening was spent lounging in my cozy apartment.
{Me and my favorite player. Yes, she wore her sunglasses the whole game. Even better, she played soccer with a sweatshirt tied around her waist. She cracks me up.}
Saturday morning I woke up at 8am in a mild panic since I had to coach soccer with Tracy at 9. Doug and I sprinted to the train, went one stop, then hustled across the Charlestown bridge over to the Beacon Hill fields. Upon arrival, I couldn't seem to find our team anywhere. Turns out, our game wasn't until 10:30am...Whoops. Tray, Doug, and I grabbed breakfast at Panificio (chocolate croissants, fruit, and tea), then headed back for the game. Per usual, our team absolutely dominated and we came out with a 14-0 win (we really did try to get them to stop scoring!).
Post victory, Doug and I headed to Chinatown in search of spring roll ingredients. We perused the markets and marveled at the unique foods. Like for instance....
Grass jelly? What is that? Apparently its a lavender-tasting dessert. I couldn't get myself to try it, I wish I was more adventurous.
After we had found everything we needed, we realized we were two hungry kids. We both weren't craving Chinese food, so we walked to the North End for paninis. On our way, we ran into the Occupy parade.
We listened to them for awhile, then made our way to Il Panino for some gooooood sandwiches. Very yum.
The rest of the day was low key. I bought a pumpkin, made homemade vietnamese spring rolls, and watched Biggest Loser. It was a nice, relaxing evening before...
The Pats/Cowboys game. Sunday was an all day affair starting at 10am. We joined in my brother's tailgate and spent the day eating well, drinking well, and playing ladder golf. And although our seats were cloud-level, I thought we had the perfect view (thanks nug!). Not to mention, the game itself was incredible. The Pats won with 22 seconds left, after being down most of the 4th quarter. Awesome.
Great weekend :)
14-0!! You guys dominate! I need to make it to one of these games asap.
ReplyDeleteWas Nugs upset about the Cowboys? Too bad man!
