Wanderful Wednesday

This time last year I spent a wonderful fall weekend in Rockport, MA. A small fishing village, it's a scenic town with fantastic art galleries, tiny boutiques, seafood restaurants, and b&b's. In the summer it's bustling with beach lovers and weekenders, but once autumn rolls around it quiets to a quaint, peaceful getaway.

                                                                                                                              c/o
I stayed at Emerson Inn by the Sea, one of the most historic inns in New England. It was so beautiful and cozy, and had gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. There's just something soothing about falling asleep to the sound of the waves lapping outside your window.

One morning was spent hiking through Halibut Point State Park, climbing the rocks and enjoying the vistas of the coastline. After the hike, the remainder of the day was spent perusing the shops, eating lobster rolls and chowder, and walking the beach.

Emerson Inn was also where I discovered my new favorite tea:  I Love Lemon Tea. Seriously, I love this stuff. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I guzzled this lemony goodness while eating cookies and playing trivial pursuit in the inn's common room until the wee hours. A very relaxing evening, and a nice change of pace from the usual Saturday night shenanigans.

Anyway, if your looking for a peaceful weekend in the near future, Rockport is the place. Between it's charm, beautiful beaches, and friendly people, it's the perfect escape.
