Apologizing

foto
I'm sure the majority of us, at some point in our lives, has had to apologize for something that we did. Whether it was telling a lie, saying something hurtful, or showing up late to meet someone...we've all said those two little words, "I'm sorry".

Back in high school I had a great English teacher who introduced me to This American Life, a radio show on NPR. I loved it. I especially enjoyed the thought provoking, emotional episode called: Apology. If you have 60 minutes to spare, listen to it. It's really touching. My favorite part is "The Apology Line" (at around 29:10). In the 1980's, a telephone line was created for people to call in and apologize about things by leaving messages on an answering machine. The calls are real and extremely powerful to listen to. Listen here: This American Life: Apology (click the link and under "277:Apology" click "play episode").
